Who We Are

Founded in 2009 in Reno, Nevada, Drone America has grown into a national leader in unmanned aircraft systems. We specialize in designing, manufacturing, and operating medium to large-scale UAS – including multirotor quadcopters, VTOL hybrid aircraft, and unmanned helicopter systems – to serve a wide range of industries and public services

Our experienced engineering team and flight crews provide end-to-end UAS solutions, from initial design and payload integration to mission planning and flight operations. We pride ourselves on a culture of safety, innovation, and excellence, which has earned us a trusted reputation in the UAS industry. Every drone we build and operate adheres to rigorous standards and FAA regulations, reflecting our commitment to quality and airspace safety.

Craftsmanship & Innovation

At Drone America, every unmanned aircraft is engineered with precision and purpose—built to perform in the most demanding environments. Our platforms are constructed using aerospace-grade carbon fiber, aluminum, and advanced composites, ensuring strength, endurance, and mission reliability.

Driven by innovation and real-world experience, our team of engineers, flight operations specialists, and technicians design systems to meet the needs of today’s emergency responders, infrastructure inspectors, and government agencies. Whether it’s high-wind, high-altitude, or high-stakes environments, our UAS are crafted for rugged performance and long-term reliability.

Founded in 2009 in Reno, Nevada, Drone America was created with a bold mission: to save lives, support ecological resilience, and pioneer next-generation aerial technologies. Today, we remain steadfast in that vision, advancing American aerospace craftsmanship and shaping the future of autonomous flight, one mission at a time.

Key Partnerships

Collaboration drives our success. Drone America has a strong track record of working with leading organizations and government agencies to advance UAS technology. We have partnered with NASA and the FAA on major programs, including the FAA’s BEYOND program, to develop and test BVLOS capabilities.

As a key participant in the Nevada UAS Test Site team, we worked with the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, the University of Nevada, Reno, and other industry leaders on NASA’s urban flight trials and airspace integration initiatives.

On the commercial side, we have established partnerships with utility companies like US Utilities to perform power line inspections and with research institutions such as the Desert Research Institute. These partnerships enable us to stay at the cutting edge of UAS applications and ensure our technologies truly meet real-world needs.

We also collaborate with local and state agencies, including the City of Reno, where we have deployed UAS for wildfire response, public safety missions, and disaster assessment. Our drones provide real-time aerial intelligence, helping emergency teams make faster, safer, and more informed decisions during critical situations.

If it walks, crawls, flies, or swims, and there is nobody in it, it may be ours!
