Under a program with a federal security agency, Drone America demonstrated how long-endurance drones can assist in border patrol and surveillance. Using a fixed-wing platform outfitted with day/night cameras, we conducted extended patrol flights along remote sections of the border. The drones automatically detected and tracked simulated targets, relaying coordinates to agents on the ground. By flying BVLOS, our aircraft covered areas that are difficult for personnel to continuously patrol.

The success of these demonstrations highlighted the role UAS can play in augmenting national security efforts while reducing risk and cost.
